The positions are Cheif system Administrator, System Administrator, Project Fellow, Project Assistant

Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (TIFR), Mumbai hereby invites applications for Walk-in
Test/Interview for several temporary positions in System Administration at the Computer Facility of
HBCSE.
The Computer Facility of HBCSE consists of a data centre with several servers and a LAN with about
200 clients. The servers typically run GNU/Linux OS while the clients are mostly dual-boot systems.
The data centre and the clients are networked through a router and a distributed cluster of switches.
System administration includes setting up and maintaining servers for web, email, spam and virus
filtering, firewalls, network traffic monitoring, maintaining databases, wikis, backups etc. Applications
for the following posts are sought from individuals with a passion and commitment for working in a
learning environment, and an understanding of free software development and support systems.
All the posts are purely temporary, for one year in the first instance and extendable by one or
two more years. The applicant is encouraged to apply for multiple positions provided (s)he
satisfies the minimum qualifications.
